BISC team joins award-winning yacht at Cowes week 2009

The yacht Puma Logic, as crewed by BISC members during 2009 Cowes week, was recently awarded the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) 2009 Yacht of the Year award. John & John across the Channel – June 2009

Nieuwpoort, Wednesday evening, and our cross-Channel weekend started. We rushed to get out of Nieuwpoort to catch the tide that would take us to Dunkerque. As we left the Ijzer to go onto open sea and the first watch took charge, we contemplated the need to turn on the motor. Fortunately the wind picked up and by the time the off-duty watch emerged 2½ hours later we were almost in Dunkerque and thinking about putting a reef in the mainsail. Read more from this entry.


Wayfarers across the North Sea – 18th June 2005

It was 08.00, 4 hours after breakfast and we were having the time of our lives! For Wayfarer Jabiru crewed by Phil and Isolda and Now or Never with Jenny and John, the day stretched ahead with unknown prospects toward Ostend 70 miles away. But for the moment life was perfect! We were making 4-5 knots towards our first waypoint, Falls Head buoy in a SE F2 under full sail, sunshine and calm seas. Read more from this entry.
